While you’re enjoying Lantern Rite in Genshin Impact, you can take along a bake-tanuki in the Eight Locales over Mountains and Seas event.

STARTING THE EVENT

You will need to obtain the associated event World Quest. You’ll be visiting Ioroi, who will ask you to bring Kichiboushi along with you on your travels.

LOCALES OVER MOUNTAINS AND SEAS

SNOWSWEPT FAIRYTALE

First stop, Dragonspine! Turn behind to begin chasing after Kichiboushi. The bake-tanuki will be transforming at points, and you’ll have to break them to proceed with the story. In this case, bring some Pyro. You’ll also have to fight the Great Snowboar King, so prepare your party accordingly before you continue following Kichiboushi!

Light the torch here.

Use Pyro on the little ice snow pile.

If you haven’t fought the Great Snowboar King before, you can make it charge into the walls to briefly stun itself. It does not drop Cold Meat, though.

SOLILOQUY OF DISTANT ISLAND PEAKS

Next is Guyun Stone Forest! You need to have one Crystal Core to give Kichiboushi. Enjoy the view from the Alcor’s mast.

TWO CITIES’ RECOMMENDATIONS

It’s time to feast! There’s not much you need to do here besides progressing through the dialogue.

THE WONDERS OF ADEPTAL AMBER

Follow Kichiboushi down the stairs. It might be easy for you to miss him.

You need to free him from the amber here.

ONE HUNDRED SIGHTS OF DIHUA

There’ll be a brief combat against two Hilichurl and a shielded Mitachurl. You’ll also need to fish out 3 fish.

BLAZING POETRY

You need one Flaming Flower Stamen, and then fight the Pyro Regisvine. You can get the boss rewards if you want.

WANDERERS APPRAISAL

Take a stroll through Stormterror’s Lair, and conclude Kichiboushi’s training.
