The previously announced Granblue Fantasy and Kimetsu no Yaiba / Demon Slayer collaboration will be kicking off on 8 December, lasting until 20 December. The event itself is called “Scent of Fate at Sky’s End”. The story blurb is given as follows:
At the beginning of days, the world was torn in two. This left a scar on the sky – a sealed gate from which unnatural energies seep like blood from a wound.
Ages pass, and the gate once again creaks open. It attracks a group of wanderers as unwhole as itself: grieving, rancorous, remourseful. There, all must find healing or else drown in the rancid red.
A gentle flame shall repel the crimson and rekindle life in the ashes of the sky.
The playable characters are:
Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke are all part of a single unit! Their element was not revealed in the preview.
Kyojuro Rengoku will be available from the event shop. If he’s anything other than Fire element, now that would be weird.
Last but not least, Shinobu Kochou will also be playable. She will be recruitable from the second half of the event that begins 13 December. A preview of her art can be seen on the official Twitter.
Giyuu is not a playable character, but he will be a summon. The Nichirin Sword is a Water-element Katana, which interestingly mentions to “equip to a party with Tanjiro”, hinting that the quartet will be Water-element. Both Giyuu and the sword will have a fourth star uncap.
For newer players, the Samurai class and its tier-up, Kengo, will be unlockable for free through the event. If you haven’t started playing Granblue Fantasy yet, the Granblue Fes event is also this weekend where a whole bunch of goodies should be revealed, so you could just hop in for the Kimetsu collab and reap all of that in.
