The announcement came during the recent TarkovTV LIVE New Year’s Special, where the development team showcased new maps, gameplay systems, and customization options planned for next year.
Following its long-awaited 1.0 launch on Steam in November 2025, Escape From Tarkov is entering a critical phase of its lifespan. While the full release experienced a rocky start, the game’s dedicated player base has remained active, and Battlestate Games appears determined to build on that momentum with meaningful updates.
New Maps Promise Fresh Experiences
One of the most notable reveals from the livestream was Icebreaker, a new snowy map set aboard a full-size cargo ship. The map has appeared in earlier teasers, but the latest footage suggests it is nearing completion. Icebreaker introduces a confined yet vertically layered environment, which could significantly alter combat flow and extraction strategies.
In contrast, another upcoming map titled End of Line takes place in a metro station. This setting offers a darker, enclosed atmosphere that leans heavily into close-quarters combat.
