Sharp-eye fans have spotted a possible release date for the upcoming DMC Pinnacle of Combat, the mobile game based off of the Devil May Cry series.
According to users on reddit, the Chinese App store has reported the release date for DMC Pinnacle of Combat as around 11th June. Previously, the game had announced an Open Beta, letting players try out the game’s combat.
Fans generally responded well to Pinnacle of Combat’s action, being very visually similar to the mainline Devil May Cry games. On top of that, the combat is pretty close to the mainline games, with each weapon having two types of attacks as well as one for guns and two more for mobility.
As of recent trailers, we know that there will be three playable characters at launch, all based on their Devil May Cry 3 iterations- Dante, Vergil and Lady. While you’ll get Dante off the bat, the demo had Lady locked behind progression, while fan-favorite character Vergil was locked behind a paywall. While the game supposedly takes place in the Devil May Cry canon, Vergil’s inclusion is probably outside of the canon, in line with all his game appearances since Devil May Cry 3 pretty solidly tells you where he is by the end of the game. This could also mean the future inclusion of other non-canon characters, such as Nero or even Trish or Lucia.
