Omegamon, otherwise known as Omnimon in the West, has received a full-blown evolution sequence of its own in Digimon Adventure 2020 Reboot. This occurred in the second-last episode of the series, titled “The Last Miracle, The Last Power”.
For the uninitiated, Omegamon is a fusion between WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon, two Ultimate (Mega in the West) Digimon, partnered by the DigiDestined, Tai and Matt respectively. Omegamon debuted in Digimon Adventure: Our War Game! but didn’t have a proper evolution sequence. It merely showed both WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon forming the arms, before the body of Omegamon magically appeared.

In Digimon Adventure 2020 Reboot, Omegamon had a more elaborate evolution sequence, complete with a remix of the reboot’s theme song Break the Chain playing, further hyping up the scene. Fans could see everything from Omegamon’s toes and even its cape being formed as it makes its epic appearance. Surprisingly, this is not the first time Omegamon appeared in the anime, having first appeared as early as episode 2.
Digimon Adventure 2020 Reboot has one more episode before it concludes. You can catch the season finale next week on Crunchyroll. Next month, a new Digimon anime featuring all-new characters and Digimon, Digimon Ghost Game, will premiere on October 3, 2021.
