The Day of the Devs: 2025 Game Awards Edition wrapped up delivering another showcase filled with indie game announcements and updates for enthusiasts of independent gaming. Following the tradition established in previous years, this year’s presentation continued to serve as a vital platform for indie developers to share their creative projects with a global audience. The event featured 21 games total, including 7 world premieres alongside previously announced titles and newly confirmed release dates.
Featured Game Highlights
CorgiSpace (Developer: Adam Atomic, Publisher: Finji) This collection bundles multiple small-scale games into one package, offering variety across action, adventure, arcade, roguelike, and puzzle genres. The games are designed for short play sessions while maintaining an addictive quality that appeals to casual players. Developer Adam Saltsman has packaged the experience to deliver a range of gameplay styles without requiring much time investment from players, making it an accessible option for those looking for quick but engaging gaming sessions.

Frog Sqwad (Developer: Panic Stations, Publisher: Skeleton Crew) A co-op multiplayer game supporting up to 8 players, where participants control frogs with sticky tongues. The physics-based gameplay creates unpredictable moments as players platform, solve puzzles, and interact with each other in chaotic matches. Players can use their frogs’ tongues to navigate levels, throw teammates around, and tackle challenges in unexpected ways. The physics system ensures that no two matches feel the same, as players must constantly adapt to changing environmental conditions while enjoying the game’s humor-filled sessions.

Lucid Falls (Developer/Publisher: Eldamar Studio) Built in Unreal Engine 5, this psychological horror game traps players in a lucid dream filled with dangerous creatures. The game combines realistic combat with reality-bending exploration elements and puzzle-solving. The Unreal Engine 5 development has resulted in stunning and atmospheric visuals that enhance the horror experience. Players must survive terrifying scenarios while navigating through a dream world that uses unique reality-bending mechanics, creating an environment that truly captures the feeling of being inside a nightmare.

Mirria (Developer: Carl Burton, Publisher: Mografi) A puzzle game set in a world between reality and dream. Players investigate mysteries using lingering memories as clues, with an atmospheric exploration experience designed for casual players. The game asks players to unravel secrets through investigation in a mysterious world that blurs the line between what’s real and imagined. While approachable for casual audiences, Mirria still delivers engaging puzzle gameplay enhanced by the atmospheric sensation of exploring its enigmatic setting.

Scramble Knights Royale (Developer/Publisher: Funktronic Labs) This battle royale game takes inspiration from The Legend of Zelda series, putting 32 players in an arena with towns, dungeons, and quests. Players can strengthen their characters through adventure-style activities beyond direct combat. The game features islands filled with retro-style charm where players can explore dungeons, complete quests, and engage in various activities to power up their characters. This approach makes each match feel fresh and varied, as players aren’t limited to just fighting each other but can experience adventure game elements within the battle royale format.

Un:Me (Developer: Historia, Publisher: Shueisha Games) A psychological horror game set in a hospital filled with anomalies and mysterious creatures. The trailer showcases a protagonist dealing with sanity-threatening situations in a narrative-focused experience. The game features impressive production value for an indie title and presents a strong sense of mystery through its premise. Players witness the protagonist lose her grip on reality while navigating a hospital environment that grows increasingly disturbing, with the game’s trailer raising more questions than answers about the true nature of what’s happening.

Virtue and a Sledgehammer (Developer: Deconstructeam & Selkie Harbour, Publisher: Devolver) This action-adventure game features retro PS1-style visuals and tells a story about someone who can no longer live where they grew up. The sledgehammer serves as both a weapon and navigation tool throughout the experience. The collaboration between two talented developers under Devolver’s publishing has created something unique that goes beyond its nostalgic presentation. While the PS1-era character models and aesthetic are immediately noticeable, the game delivers a narrative experience made more dramatic through the inclusion of robots and the sledgehammer mechanic, which plays a central role in both combat and how players explore the world.
Additional Games Showcased
The showcase also featured additional titles including Astromine, Awaysis, Beastro, Big Hops, Demon Tides, Dogpile, Find Your Words, Into the Fire, Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth, ROCKBEASTS, SOUNDGRASS, Stretchmancer, The Dungeon Experience, and Unshine Arcade.
Day of the Devs is a non-profit organization that was founded by Double Fine Productions and iam8bit in 2012. Operating entirely on donations, the organization has maintained its commitment to supporting indie developers year after year through engaging digital showcase events. These presentations help smaller studios and independent creators promote their games to wider audiences.
