Pearl Abyss announced that Crimson Desert has sold through 3 million copies worldwide. The news came alongside the release of patch 1.00.03, a substantial update that addresses player feedback with fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and difficulty adjustments across several parts of the game. Pearl Abyss thanked players for their support and noted that community feedback continues to shape the direction of the game, with more improvements still planned for future updates.

One of the bigger additions in this patch is the new Private Storage at Howling Hill Camp, which lets players store items from their inventory. A similar storage option is also available at the initial lodgings in Hernand. The developers also added more Abyss Nexuses across the continent of Pywel to make fast travel through teleportation more accessible.

Several gameplay activities have been made less tedious as well. Logging trees now only requires basic swings without needing to aim first, and fewer hits are needed to chop them down. Knowledge acquisition takes less time, and skill observation only needs to be done once before a skill can be used. Force Palm is also now available much earlier in the game.

Ore veins and collectibles now get discovered automatically when players are close enough. The patch brings notable reductions to health and attack values for certain enemies and bosses. Stamina consumption for blocking has been lowered, and successful parries now build up the stun gauge on bosses more quickly. The ambush encounters leading to the Reed Devil boss have also been made easier, and some of Kearush the Slayer’s attack patterns have been adjusted.

Boss weaknesses will now show up on screen even if the player hasn’t acquired the relevant knowledge yet. Several bug fixes were also applied to combat, including fire arrows now properly igniting enemies, and the Blinding Flash weakness now correctly applying to affected enemies.

Console players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox can now toggle a 120Hz mode in the settings, though it requires a 120Hz-capable display and sufficient bandwidth such as HDMI 2.1. The default refresh rate has been changed to 60Hz to ensure stable output.

On PC, several display and resolution issues were addressed, including problems with Fullscreen and Borderless Window modes, incorrect monitor size detection, and graphics cards not being recognized in certain system configurations. Mac players also received fixes for crashes, freezes, and a letterbox issue in cutscenes. Players using keyboard and mouse received several improvements. Character movement is now more responsive, and new keyboard shortcuts have been added for commonly used menus.

The studio also confirmed that this patch is not the last word on control improvements, with further updates to both controller and keyboard/mouse setups still in the works. Additional gameplay changes based on community feedback are also expected in future patches.
