Netflix is expanding its lineup of gaming adaptations with a new Crash Bandicoot animated series in development. The furry PlayStation mascot will finally star in his own show. According to reports, Netflix is quietly working on the series with WildBrain Studios, the same team behind Sonic Prime.
From PlayStation Icon to Netflix Star

Crash Bandicoot debuted in 1996 as a flagship title for the original Sony PlayStation. Developed by Naughty Dog, co-founded by Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin, the series became an instant hit. The studio created the original trilogy and Crash Team Racing before moving on to other projects.

After their departure, Universal Interactive, later Vivendi, took over. The franchise eventually landed with Activision, now owned by Microsoft. Over the years, Crash Bandicoot branched out into kart racing and party games. The 2017 N. Sane Trilogy remake revived the franchise, paving the way for Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time.
WildBrain’s Next Gaming Adventure

WildBrain Studios is producing the new series. The animation studio previously worked on Sonic Prime, which ran for three seasons between 2022 and 2024. WildBrain is also known for shows like Carmen Sandiego, Johnny Test, Go, Dog. Go!, and The Snoopy Show. While story details remain secret, the series will likely bring the same energetic animation style seen in the studio’s past projects.
Crash’s Return to the Small Screen

This won’t be Crash’s first Netflix appearance. He previously appeared in Skylanders Academy, voiced by Eric Rogers and later Rhys Darby, with Coco Bandicoot also featured. However, this project marks the first time Crash leads his own series. Past plans for an animated adaptation by Activision and Amazon Studios never materialized.
Netflix Expands Its Gaming Universe
The Crash Bandicoot series is part of Netflix’s growing video game adaptation slate. Recent projects include Arcane, Tomb Raider, and Splinter Cell. The streamer is also developing Minecraft and Clash of Clans series, both animated by WildBrain.

Netflix is even expanding into board game adaptations, with Catan, Clue!, and Monopoly in development. No release date has been announced yet. With WildBrain leading production, fans can expect a fun, action-packed return for everyone’s favorite bandicoot.
