Capcom has shared some positive words about the future of PRAGMATA, suggesting the new IP could be a franchise seeing more games down the line. The comments came from Rob Dyer, Chief Operating Officer of Capcom USA, during a panel at the Iicon event. Dyer was speaking about how Capcom approaches game development on a global scale, and he used PRAGMATA as an example of what happens when the company takes Western player preferences seriously.
According to Dyer, PRAGMATA ‘s Japanese development team worked closely with Capcom’s American division throughout the process. This included running focus tests, offering demos, and conducting surveys in Western markets to gather player feedback before the game launched.

“They took feedback,” Dyer said. After six years in development, “it was worth the effort.” He added: “We’re to a point now where we’ve got another IP that Capcom, and god bless them, has an arsenal, that we can continue to go down.”
PRAGMATA is a relatively rare thing for Capcom: a brand new original IP. The game, which comes from the studio behind Resident Evil and Monster Hunter, follows astronaut Hugh and his android companion Diana as they fight to escape a Moon base taken over by dangerous robots.

The game launched last month and sold over one million copies within its first two days, which Capcom described as a strong start. The company pointed to a few factors behind that early momentum, including the release of a demo ahead of launch and the decision to release a Nintendo Switch 2 version on day one. With solid sales numbers and a company exec openly talking about the IP’s future, PRAGMATA appears to have earned itself a place in Capcom’s growing library of franchises.
