Capcom has wrapped up its best sales year ever, with the Japanese game publisher selling more copies of its games in a single business year than at any point in its history. For the fiscal year that ended March 31, Capcom sold 59.07 million games, up from 51.87 million the year before. The company also reported its ninth straight year of record profits, along with its highest-ever consolidated sales and operating profit.
The big driver behind those numbers was Resident Evil. The series carried much of the load, with the newly released Resident Evil Requiem alone moving nearly 7 million units between its February launch and the end of March.

Capcom also shared some interesting breakdowns of where those sales came from. Older “catalog” titles made up 83.7% of all games sold, showing that back-catalog games remain a significant part of the business. On top of that, 93% of all sales were digital downloads.
Looking ahead, Capcom is projecting net sales of 210,000 million yen and an operating profit of 83,000 million yen for the next fiscal year, which would mark ten consecutive years of record-high profits. The company is also targeting 65 million games sold by the end of March 2027, a roughly 10% increase from this year.

The upcoming fiscal year has a few notable releases lined up. PRAGMATA, which already sold 2 million copies in its opening weeks, will count toward those figures, as will Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Mega Man: Dual Override is also set to arrive sometime in 2027.
