Avowed Confirmed for PlayStation 5 This February

Obsidian Entertainment’s action RPG Avowed is officially making its way to PlayStation 5. Publisher Xbox Game Studios has confirmed that the PlayStation 5 version will launch on February 17, arriving alongside the game’s upcoming “Anniversary Update.” Pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 release are now live via the PlayStation Store, marking a significant expansion of the title’s platform availability.

Previously, Avowed launched on February 18, 2025, exclusively for Xbox Series X|S consoles and PC through platforms such as the Microsoft Store, Steam, and Battle.net. The upcoming PlayStation 5 release comes almost exactly one year later, opening the doors for a wider audience to experience Obsidian’s first-person fantasy RPG set in the world of Eora.

Anniversary Update Brings Major Gameplay Enhancements

Launching simultaneously with the PlayStation 5 version, the “Anniversary Update” introduces a range of substantial new features aimed at enhancing both replayability and player customization. One of the most notable additions is New Game Plus, allowing players to revisit the campaign while retaining progression elements from their previous playthrough.

The update also introduces a fully featured Photo Mode, giving players the tools to capture moments across Avowed’s fantasy landscapes. In addition, a brand-new weapon type will be added, expanding combat variety and build options. Players will also gain the ability to change their character’s appearance during the game, rather than being locked into their initial creation choices.
