CangMo Game Entertainment has released a new trailer for A Whisper of Fall: Jinyiwei, offering a deeper look at its Wuxia-inspired action role-playing experience set during the final years of China’s Ming Dynasty. The title, also known as Project: Jinyiwei, is part of the PlayStation China Hero Project, an initiative aimed at supporting and showcasing original Chinese-developed games for a global audience.
Currently in development for PlayStation 5 and PC, the new trailer places a stronger spotlight on the game’s combat, investigation systems, and historical setting, while reinforcing its focus on player choice and political intrigue.
A PlayStation China Hero Project Title

As a participant in the PlayStation China Hero Project, A Whisper of Fall: Jinyiwei represents CangMo Game Entertainment’s ambition to deliver a high-quality action RPG rooted in Chinese history and Wuxia storytelling. The initiative has previously supported a range of distinctive titles, and Jinyiwei continues that tradition by blending traditional martial arts with modern action RPG design.
The game is both developed and published by CangMo Game Entertainment, with PlayStation 5 positioned as one of its primary platforms alongside PC.
An Undercover Agent Within the Jinyiwei

Set during the late Ming Dynasty, A Whisper of Fall: Jinyiwei follows an ordinary boatman whose life takes a drastic turn after an unexpected incident forces him into the ranks of the Jinyiwei, the Imperial Guards tasked with enforcing the will of the empire. Rather than serving the state willingly, the protagonist infiltrates the organization as an undercover agent working for the black market.
Players must balance official duties for the Imperial Guard Bureau with secret assignments from criminal forces. As cases unfold, routine investigations gradually reveal a much larger conspiracy, placing the player at the center of a dangerous political struggle.
Deduction-Driven Investigation and Player Choice

One of the game’s defining features is its unique “deduction” system. This mechanic allows players to analyze clues, anticipate outcomes, and identify culprits during investigations and interrogations. By foreseeing possible futures, players can resolve cases efficiently or uncover hidden truths that reshape the story.
Choices play a central role throughout the experience. Decisions affect faction relationships, narrative outcomes, and the player’s ultimate path. The game poses a clear question: will players become a knight-errant fighting for justice, a bureaucrat seeking stability, or someone who chooses an entirely different fate?
Martial Arts Combat and Vertical Exploration

Combat focuses on strategic, counter-based martial arts rather than simple button-mashing. Players can sneak through guarded areas, scale walls, leap between rooftops, and engage enemies using fluid Wuxia-style movement. The trailer emphasizes vertical exploration and fast-paced encounters, reinforcing the fantasy of a highly skilled Imperial Guard navigating dense urban and rural environments.
Beyond combat, players can repeatedly interrogate suspects, revisit evidence, and solve cases with minimal dialogue, relying heavily on deduction and observation.
A Ming Dynasty on the Brink
Set against a backdrop of political decay and social unrest, A Whisper of Fall: Jinyiwei aims to immerse players in a world where survival depends on wit, skill, and the choices made along the way. With its new trailer and its inclusion in the PlayStation China Hero Project, the game is shaping up as a notable entry in the growing wave of Chinese-developed action RPGs.
A Whisper of Fall: Jinyiwei is currently listed as “Coming Soon” for PlayStation 5 and PC, with further details expected in the future.
