Girl Cafe Gun ends service in Japan

The Japan server for Girl Cafe Gun will end service come 16:59 JST, 31 August 2021. The announcement was posted without much fanfare on the official Twitter, saying that more details regarding the end of service can be found in game. While Japan isn’t the home server for Girl Cafe Gun, the spending within the country is often quite impressive for gacha games across the board.

This can be considered more concerning due to the fact the game actually very recently concluded a closed beta test in Canada and the US in preparation for a global launch. Supposedly, the global version is the sequel version due to the first game not being available, but it’s nonetheless probably not very reassuring.

Girl Cafe Gun is developed by Seasun, where players control 12 girls to do battle, with guns, as you might expect. It’s an RPG shooting mobile game, with the typical character bonding mechanics in play. The whole bonding thing can also get saucy, though it seems that censorship laws have hit the game and thus reducing the steamy factor. The Japanese server did not have such puritan views, but it also had issues where the game was region locked, requiring a VPN to bypass until recently.

In any case, players might want to be cautious about their in-app purchases.
