Genshin Impact leaks suggest 10 year roadmap after massive profits

Leaks have apparently suggested that Genshin Impact is in for the long haul, moving from a 5 year roadmap to 12 years. This info is credited to Arkywzx from the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor Discord community, from which many credible leaks have been shared to players at large. Perhaps somewhat grimly hilarious is the fact that official accounts – such as this statement from the official Twitter – have requested players not to share leaks, stating they will “increase efforts to deal with illegal disclosures”.

It gives that bit more context regarding the whole #BoycottGenshin hashtag that ran its course previously, where players were concerned about the push back of content, among other things. As it were, Genshin is running on a 6 week update cycle for major versions as part of the ‘original’ roadmap. 

The numbers will show that the game is doing massively well, hitting that 1 billion revenue mark in under six months. An update with the end of March will say that there’s yet room for the numbers to grow. Some of the numbers are estimations, but regardless, that is a lot of money one way or another.

Now, questions will need to be asked about how sustainable this growth is. It’s not to say that free to play/start gacha games cannot last so long, and Genshin has the distinction of being this high quality production that you can argue nothing else can match. Only time will tell.
