Good news for those who haven’t purchase Destiny 2, the game is finally going free as Destiny 2: New Light across all platforms from September 17! It is also announced that Destiny 2 is arriving on Steam and Stadia, along with a new expansion – Destiny 2: Shadowkeep that will launch on the same day when the free version goes live.

Destiny 2: New Light

Destiny 2: New Light serves as a brand new entry point for newcomers, that puts the worlds of Destiny 2 – and all of its foundational modes, activities, and rewards into the hands of every player. Destiny 2: Shadowkeep

New Nightmares have emerged from the shadows of our forgotten Moon. Called forth by the haunting visions from her tormented past, Eris Morn has returned and unleashed something that once slumbered beneath the lunar surface – a long-dormant power even she cannot control.

Return to the Moon. Journey deep into a mysterious enemy citadel. Help Eris slay these nightmares before they reach out beyond the Moon to cast humanity back into an age of darkness.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is a new expansion for Destiny 2 arriving on PS4, Xbox One, Steam and Stadia on September 17. It does not require you to own any previous Destiny 2 expansions to purchase or play. Pre-order is available now on the official site.

Destiny 2 on PC (Steam)

Destiny 2 will become available on Steam on September 17. Current PC players on Blizzard’s Battle.net will be able to bring all of their progress and purchases with them, which includes their Guardians and their vaults. Destiny 2 on Stadia

Destiny 2 will be available on Stadia this fall. For those who are new, Stadia is the new platform from Google that allows you to play games across virtually any screen. More information on Stadia is available here.

Cross-Save for Destiny 2

Cross-Save for Destiny 2 will be available this Fall. This will allow you to access the same characters tied to one primary account and have a unified experience with the same Guardians on different platforms. More details will be revealed on the official website within this summer.
