Diablo Immortal will have its biggest update come soon with Patch 5.0, and it’s packing more than just a new character to play. Titled The Bloodied Jewel, introduces the Warlock as the game’s tenth playable class, brings back a beloved location from Diablo II, adds new raid bosses, and quietly rolls out a number of quality-of-life changes that veteran players will likely appreciate. Here’s everything you need to know.
Meet the Warlock
The Warlock is easily the headline feature of Patch 5.0, and it’s a class that stands out from what’s already in the game. While the Necromancer leans on raising armies of undead, the Warlock takes a different path rooted in Vizjerei demonology, which means summoning creatures straight from the Burning Hells and wielding Hellfire and shadow magic.
What makes the class interesting right away is how much of its kit revolves around risk and reward. Many abilities cost health, demand aggressive positioning, or require chaining skills together in ways that keep you constantly engaged. It doesn’t play like a class where you hang back and let minions do all the work. The Warlock rewards players who stay in the thick of things.

At the center of the Warlock’s kit is the Soulgorger, a demonic companion that grows stronger by absorbing fallen enemies and picking up new traits along the way. It functions less like a throwaway summon and more like a partner that evolves as you play, which adds a satisfying layer of progression even in regular combat.
Other notable abilities include Infernal Eruption and Devouring Darkness, which mix crowd control, area denial, and big visual effects into a combat style that feels distinct from existing classes. The overall experience leans into controlled chaos, which fits the Warlock’s lore-driven identity well.

Lut Gholein Returns, But Not as You Remember It
For players who have been around since Diablo II, seeing Lut Gholein back is one of the more exciting parts of this patch. The iconic desert city returns in The Bloodied Jewel storyline, but it’s not a simple nostalgia trip. The city has clearly suffered under demonic occupation. Abandoned taverns, ruined streets, and corrupted districts paint a picture of a place that has been through a lot, giving the area a strong atmosphere that goes beyond just recognizing familiar landmarks.

The new story content uses the setting to tie into the larger threats facing Sanctuary, which helps the update feel like a genuine continuation of Diablo Immortal’s narrative rather than a callback for its own sake.
New Helliquary Bosses to Take Down
Patch 5.0 also adds three new Helliquary bosses called the Pitbound, and they connect to the update’s themes more closely than some previous raid content. Gulakht carries some unsettling backstory as a Khazra driven mad through centuries of Vizjerei experimentation, while Shackled Maw draws an interesting parallel to the Warlock’s own Soulgorger companion, making it feel thematically relevant rather than random.

The third boss, Yradus, is positioned as the toughest of the three and is locked behind Inferno XV difficulty. Blizzard recommends hitting at least Paragon Level 1700 and around 64,000 Combat Rating before attempting it, making it one of the most demanding encounters the game currently has to offer. All three fights are designed with spectacle in mind alongside their mechanics, continuing a trend Diablo Immortal has been building toward with its larger boss encounters.
Progression and Quality-of-Life Updates
Alongside the major content additions, Patch 5.0 brings a number of changes to progression and overall game feel. The Server Paragon cap is being raised to 1500, giving long-time players a new goal while also helping newer or returning players benefit from experience bonuses to close the gap.
The Legendary Essence pool is also getting a refresh to clear out outdated and rarely used drops, which should make gearing feel more efficient. A new Legendary Gem called Hellbound Desire is also being added, and it looks like a solid pick for players who favor aggressive, high-pressure offensive builds.
Blizzard is launching a large lineup of events to go along with the Warlock’s release. The New Class Experience event is split into three separate activities: Episodic Experience, which rewards Mystery Legendary Items and Mystery Set Items; Hellish Trials, which offers similar rewards plus an extra Stash Tab; and the Warlock Race Challenge, a speedrun-style event that rewards exclusive Warlock cosmetics, Legendary Crests, and more.

These events are designed to be approachable. New players trying out the Warlock should be able to earn solid rewards without feeling overwhelmed, and veterans have enough incentive to push harder if they choose.
A new Phantom Market cosmetic collection called Beacon of Hope is also arriving with the patch. The set features a bright white armor design with angelic wings and glowing effects, which is a noticeable visual shift from Diablo Immortal’s usual darker look. Returning events like Earth Resurgent, Path of Shadow, and Bloody Hell are also coming back to round out the content offering during the patch period.
Final Thoughts
On the technical side, the game’s performance on PC has noticeably improved compared to earlier in its life. Even during visually heavy moments with multiple summons, Hellfire explosions, and overlapping effects, the experience holds up well on mid-range hardware. A setup running a Ryzen 5 3600 and Radeon RX 6800 was able to run the game on max settings at 1440p without stuttering, which is a good sign for players who aren’t on the latest hardware.
Diablo Immortal patch 5.0 is shaping up to be one of the more substantial updates Diablo Immortal has had. The Warlock brings a genuinely fresh playstyle with its demon summoning, health-sacrifice mechanics, and the evolving Soulgorger system. Lut Gholein adds meaningful story content tied to a familiar setting. The new Helliquary bosses give endgame players fresh challenges. And the progression tweaks and quality-of-life changes help make the overall experience feel more polished. Whether you’re a returning player or someone who has been playing consistently, Patch 5.0 gives you a lot of reasons to log in.
