Wuthering Waves is rolling out Version 3.3 on April 30, 2026, bringing a substantial second anniversary update packed with new Resonators, story expansions, gameplay features, collaboration events, and a brand-new explorable region. Titled Reverbs from the End of Galaxies, the update continues the Dark Side storyline while introducing fresh systems designed to expand exploration and combat variety.
Here’s everything players can expect from the upcoming Version 3.3 update.
Version 3.3 Release Date and Anniversary Overview
Version 3.3 officially launches on April 30, 2026, shortly after Version 3.2’s Phase 2 banners conclude. As a milestone anniversary update, this patch delivers one of the largest content expansions yet for the game, combining narrative progression with new gameplay mechanics and celebratory rewards.
The update continues the main story arc centered around Lahai-Roi and the Fractsidus faction, while also expanding the playable roster and introducing new systems aimed at enhancing traversal and customization.
New Resonators Arriving in Version 3.3

Version 3.3 introduces two new playable Resonators alongside several returning characters through limited-time banners split across two phases.

Phase 1 begins on April 30 and features the debut of Hiyuki, accompanied by reruns of Mornye and Iuno. Phase 2 follows on May 21 with the release of Denia, alongside returning banners for Chisa and Phrolova.
Together, these six limited five-star banner appearances form the core of Version 3.3’s anniversary character lineup. Unlike the first anniversary celebration, however, this update does not include a large-scale character selector banner, instead focusing on curated banner rotations.
Signature Weapons and Banner Lineup

Two new five-star signature weapons will accompany the debut Resonators in Version 3.3.

Hiyuki arrives alongside Frostburn, a five-star sword designed to complement her combat style and elemental identity. Later in the patch cycle, Denia’s signature Rectifier weapon, Forged Dwarf Star, becomes available during Phase 2.
These weapons join existing rerun weapon banners as part of the Absolute Pulsation Convene rotations running throughout the update period.
Main Story Expansion Continues the Dark Side Arc

Version 3.3 advances the narrative through three major story quests that deepen the mystery surrounding the Fractsidus and the broader forces shaping Lahai-Roi.
The update opens with Chapter 3 Segue: Wishes in the Bell, which focuses on Hiyuki’s confrontation with the Fractsidus. This is followed by Chapter 3 Act 5: Starlights From Yesterdays, expanding on the motivations behind the faction and the significance of Aleph-1 within their long-term plans.
Later in the update cycle, Chapter 3 Segue: Beneath A Melting Night Sky introduces Denia’s role in the story and explores her connection to both the Grand Architect and the unfolding conflict.
Together, these quests continue positioning Version 3.3 as a key turning point in the Dark Side storyline.
Explore the New Region: Dimmr Plains

One of the most notable additions in Version 3.3 is Dimmr Plains, a newly accessible underground region connected to the Bjartr Woods area.
The zone surrounds the Stridergate and is heavily influenced by the lingering presence of Threnodian energy, giving it a distinct atmosphere compared to previous exploration zones. As expected from anniversary-scale updates, the region introduces new traversal opportunities, environmental storytelling, and collectible-driven exploration incentives.
New Tactical Hologram Boss and Sonata Effects

Combat-focused players can look forward to the arrival of Sigillum as a new Tactical Hologram boss encounter. The challenge spans six escalating difficulty stages designed to test advanced builds and team coordination.
Version 3.3 also introduces two new Sonata Effects: Wishes of Quiet Snowfall and Reel of Spliced Memories. These additions expand build customization options, particularly for players focusing on Glacio-based compositions and Tune Break-oriented strategies.
Anniversary Events Bring Rewards and Limited-Time Activities

As part of the second anniversary celebration, Version 3.3 includes a wide selection of limited-time events alongside permanent additions to the activity roster.
Highlights include the Bountiful Waves reward exchange event, the Starbouncing pinball-style minigame featuring chibi Resonators, and Cubie Derby Championship, which introduces a lighthearted competition mechanic centered around cube-based character racers.

Other activities such as Gifts of Grand Celebration, Gifts of Starlight, and Beyond the Waves provide login bonuses and milestone rewards, reinforcing the update’s celebratory focus. Exploration-based content like Dimmr Travelogue and Dimmr Traces further encourages players to fully engage with the newly introduced region.
Meanwhile, Into the Land of Paradox joins the game as a permanent event tied to the Roya tribe storyline in Lahai-Roi.
New Cosmetics and Character Customization Options

Customization receives a notable upgrade in Version 3.3 with the introduction of outfit accessories, allowing players to further personalize their Resonators beyond standard skins.
Mornye also receives a new outfit titled Plush Dream, offering a winter-themed aesthetic aligned with the update’s visual tone. Additional cosmetics include the Crystal Sky motorbike chassis set inspired by Hiyuki’s design motifs, as well as the Golden Coffee Ring WavesLine bundle featuring themed chat interface elements.
These additions reflect a growing emphasis on personalization systems within the game’s live-service structure.
Expanded Gameplay Systems Improve Exploration and Traversal

Several new mechanics debut in Version 3.3, including Voidmatter Blocks, a puzzle-style gameplay feature inspired by classic spatial logic mechanics. Another system called Light Builder challenges players to manipulate shadows to form specific patterns, introducing fresh environmental puzzle interactions.
Motorbike traversal also receives a major upgrade through the introduction of an aerial module, enabling players to fly across sections of Lahai-Roi and access newly designed aerial tracks. This significantly expands movement options and opens new exploration routes across the region.
Major Collaboration Lineup Headlines the Anniversary Update

Version 3.3 features one of the most ambitious collaboration lineups yet in Wuthering Waves. The update includes crossover content tied to multiple well-known franchises, including Resident Evil, Haikyu!!, Kaiju No. 8, Pragmata, Riders Republic, and Angry Birds.

These collaborations highlight the scale of the anniversary celebration and suggest continued expansion of the game’s crossover ambitions moving forward.
With a new region to explore, major story developments, expanded customization systems, anniversary rewards, and a packed collaboration lineup, Version 3.3 is shaping up to be one of the most content-rich updates yet for Wuthering Waves.
