Farming simulation game Starsand Island is changing its release plans. Developer Seed Sparkle Lab announced the game will now launch in Early Access on February 11 for PC via Steam and Xbox Series via Game Preview and Microsoft Store. This replaces the previously planned full release on February 1.
The full version of the game is still expected to arrive this summer across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC. According to the developer, the Early Access period will help them complete remaining content and improve the late-game experience before the official launch. Multiplayer features will not be available until the full release.

Starsand Island will offer two versions at Early Access launch:
The Standard Edition includes the base game and all Early Access content. Players who buy during the launch window will get a Chinese New Year bonus pack with festive outfits and furniture inspired by traditional Chinese designs.
The Deluxe Edition adds Romanticism-themed content on top of the Standard Edition, including classical outfits and fantasy-inspired furniture for additional customization options.
The Early Access version will feature over 100 hours of gameplay with most of the game’s core systems. Players can expect:
- Ranching and farming activities
- Exploration and fishing
- Crafting and building with flexible customization tools
- Relationship building with island NPCs, each with their own personality and story
- Animal companions that grow and interact with players
- Music gameplay with instruments
- Cultural dance activities, including solo and paired options
- Crossover content building on previous collaborations with My Time at Portia

The game uses a storybook-inspired art style with soft lighting and detailed environments. Seed Sparkle Lab says player feedback during Early Access will directly influence the game’s development and help shape its final form. The team plans to use this period to work closely with the community and refine the overall experience before the summer launch across all major platforms.
