Capcom has announced that Jakarta will host a special launch celebration for Resident Evil Requiem, the latest entry in the popular survival horror franchise. The two-day public event will take place at Gandaria City Mall’s LG Mini Atrium on February 28 and March 1, 2026.

Resident Evil Requiem continues the franchise’s tradition of survival horror gameplay that has defined the series since its debut in 1996. The game features two playable protagonists, Leon and Grace who offer different gameplay experiences. Leon’s sections focus on action-heavy combat with weapons like pistols, a hatchet with a parry system, and even chainsaws. Grace’s gameplay leans toward survival horror with limited inventory space, stealth mechanics, and puzzle-solving elements.
The map structure resembles classic Resident Evil games, with interconnected areas that unlock as players progress.
Both characters share the same location but approach it differently. Grace relies on crafting items, managing limited resources, and avoiding combat when possible. Leon has more weapons and ammunition, encouraging direct combat. The game also includes a first-person mode option during certain sections. The announcement marks a significant moment for Indonesian gaming fans, as major publishers increasingly recognize Southeast Asia as an important market for global game releases. The Jakarta celebration will give local players an opportunity to experience the game alongside the worldwide launch.
