The Like a Dragon series, previously known as Yakuza in Western markets, is marking its 20th anniversary with a special exhibition in Tokyo. Running from November 28th to December 22nd, 2025, the event takes place at BEAM Gallery in Shibuya and offers fans a chance to experience the world of the long-running franchise in a new way.
The Four Ceremonies Theme
The exhibition is titled “Like a Dragon – The Four Ceremonies of Life” and centers around four symbolic life milestones that have appeared throughout the series: coming of age, marriage, funerals, and festivals. These themes reflect the human stories and emotional moments that have been central to the games over the past two decades.
Visitors can explore immersive spaces designed around scenes from the games, bringing key moments to life in a physical setting. The exhibition aims to capture the cinematic storytelling and character-driven narratives that have defined the series since its debut in 2005.
What to Expect
The event opens with a video montage featuring moments from across the entire Like a Dragon series. The exhibition also includes an appearance by Takaya Kuroda, the voice actor behind protagonist Kazuma Kiryu.

Inside, attendees can view a timeline showcasing the series’ lore and character development across multiple games. The exhibition highlights the franchise’s extensive cast, which includes over 1,500 characters that have appeared throughout the series.

Interactive photo opportunities are available, including a setup where visitors can pose with a Kiryu standee and a scene designed to recreate the experience of leading an organization from a boardroom setting. Merchandise such as T-shirts, mugs, and badges are also available for purchase.
Ticketing and Future Dates
Timed-entry tickets can be purchased through Lawson Ticket using L-code 33121, with advance tickets priced at 2,600 JPY. After the Tokyo run concludes in December, the exhibition will travel to Osaka, where it will be held from February 6 to 24, 2026.

The exhibition provides both longtime fans and newcomers an opportunity to engage with 20 years of storytelling from developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, exploring the themes of loyalty, growth, and life that have made the series a lasting presence in gaming.
