Konami has revealed that Silent Hill F has surpassed one million copies sold just a day after its global release on September 25, 2025. According to the publisher, this milestone marks the fastest-selling entry in the Silent Hill franchise to date.
By comparison, the Silent Hill 2 remake, which launched on October 8, 2024, reached the same sales milestone only three days later, on October 11. This faster pace highlights the strong demand for the newest installment.

Strong Performance Across All Regions
In a Japanese press release, Konami emphasized that Silent Hill F is outperforming the Silent Hill 2 remake in every region, including Japan.

The company explained that while the remake surpassed one million shipped units within a week, Silent Hill F has achieved an even stronger sales trajectory in just its first days. Furthermore, Konami described the game as being warmly received “both at home and abroad,” underscoring its widespread appeal.
Developer Gratitude and Player Support
The game’s developer, Taiwanese studio NeoBards, also expressed gratitude to the community. Posting on X, the studio wrote: “Silent Hill F has sold over 1 million copies worldwide in just 3 days.

Thank you to all players who joined this adventure of psychological horror. We hope you’ve found the beauty in terror in this world set in Japan’s Showa era.” This heartfelt message demonstrates the studio’s appreciation while also highlighting the thematic direction of the game.
A Haunting New Story in the Franchise
Silent Hill F follows high school student Shimizu Hinako as her hometown, Ebisugaoka, becomes engulfed in fog and transforms into a nightmare.

Players must guide Hinako through twisted paths, solve intricate puzzles, and confront grotesque creatures to survive. Konami’s plot description sets the stage for a chilling narrative filled with psychological horror.
Critical Reception and Series Legacy
Reviews so far suggest that Silent Hill F stands apart from previous entries while still capturing the series’ unsettling atmosphere. GamerBraves praised it for it’s “ambitious attempt to reinvent the franchise with narrative risks, mechanical changes, and a strong cultural identity”.

Critics note that its greater emphasis on action and difficult puzzles may divide fans, yet the game’s haunting beauty ensures it remains a must-play for horror enthusiasts.
As a result, Silent Hill F not only continues the franchise’s legacy but also introduces bold new ideas that keep the series evolving. For more updates on the game be sure to follow their official X account.
