The Pokémon Company announced that Pokemon Legends: Z-A is now available for preorder. The game will be released for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, with a special Nintendo Switch 2 Edition also planned. A new trailer has been released showing the latest gameplay features. The video gives players a look at what to expect from the upcoming title.
One of the main new features is the Z-A Battle Club, which lets four players compete in fast-paced Link Battles. In these battles, trainers have three minutes to defeat as many Pokémon as possible.
The battle system works on a point-based ranking system where players earn points for each Pokémon they defeat. During battles, players can collect Mega Power Orbs to trigger Mega Evolutions and gather items that temporarily boost their Pokémon’s stats. The battles happen in real-time, allowing players to use various moves to outplay their opponents.
Players can battle others online through Ranked Battles, starting from Rank Z and working their way up to Rank A. Each season offers promotions and rewards for players who climb the ranks.

For those who prefer playing with friends, Private Battles allow up to four players to connect using Link Codes. These battles can be played both online and locally, and players can set their own custom rules.
The game supports cross-edition play, meaning players with different versions of Pokémon Legends: Z-A can battle each other. Online battles will require a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership, though availability may differ depending on the region.
