The Pokémon Company has announced the next major expansion for Pokémon TCG Pocket, titled Wisdom of Sea and Sky, which is set to launch globally on July 30, 2025.

This update not only introduces a wave of classic Pokémon from the Johto region but also overhauls the game’s in-app trading system, offering collectors new ways to build their ultimate deck.

Johto fans, your time has come. Wisdom of Sea and Sky brings back beloved Pokémon from Gold, Silver, and their HeartGold and SoulSilver remakes. The expansion features:

• Starter Pokémon: Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile
• Legendary mascots: Lugia and Ho-Oh
• First appearance of Baby Pokémon cards like Pichu and Cleffa

More excitingly, this expansion debuts cards with attacks that require no Energy, opening up brand-new strategies for players looking to diversify their decks and make quicker plays.

Revamped Trading System and Wishlist Features

Alongside the expansion, Pokémon TCG Pocket will be updating its trading system with the July 30 patch. Here’s what’s new:

• Shinedust replaces trading tokens. This new currency can be earned by:
  • Completing missions
  • Hitting achievement milestones
  • Pulling duplicate cards
• Players can now create a wishlist of up to 20 cards
• You can also highlight 3 favorite cards on your profile to improve trade matchmaking

This system gives players more control and transparency in their collecting goals, removing the randomness of older token-based trades.
