Original Article: Metal Slug: Awakening, currently in development developed by Tencent and TiMi Studio Group, has been confirmed to be coming to PS4 and PS5 in addition to the games’ mobile versions.
This information comes from a new announcement on the game’s official Twitter account accompanied by a new teaser trailer.

Additionally, the developer made a follow-up post regarding the details of the PS4 and PS5 versions which are confirmed to support haptic feedback features, as well as 4K resolution, and a more customized UI for the PlayStation 5.

The latest game in SNK’s classic third-person shooter series, Metal Slug: Awakening carries the traditional run and gun gameplay that fans know and love. You can use various weapons, grapple with giant bosses, and drive an assortment of combat vehicles.
The biggest difference to the original games is that Awakening will make use of 3D models, there will be less gore, and it will be a F2P game that makes use of microtransactions (let us pray that we can ignore them).
Metal Slug: Awakening currently has no confirmed release date, but the game has been confirmed to be coming to PS4, PS5, Android, and iOS.
If you’re not in the mood for a F2P Metal Slug game, there is another spin-off of Metal Slug in the works from Dotemu (Streets of Rage 4) called Metal Slug Tactics. This game is a strategy RPG however it maintains the high-quality pixel art of the classic run and gun games.
