Xiaomi has officially unveiled the new REDMI Pad 2 9.7 Series in Malaysia, introducing a compact and affordable tablet lineup aimed at users who want reliable everyday performance with strong entertainment features. The new series includes the REDMI Pad 2 9.7 and REDMI Pad 2 9.7 4G, giving consumers the choice between a standard Wi-Fi model and a mobile connectivity variant.

Designed as a more portable version of the REDMI Pad 2 family, the latest tablets arrive with meaningful upgrades over the previous generation. Xiaomi highlights a larger display, stronger battery life, improved processing power, slimmer body design, and updated software experience. With pricing starting below RM600, the REDMI Pad 2 9.7 Series is clearly positioned to compete in Malaysia’s value tablet segment.

9.7-Inch 2K Display with Smooth Refresh Rate

The REDMI Pad 2 9.7 Series features a 9.7-inch display with 2K resolution, delivering sharper visuals for streaming, reading, browsing, and gaming. Xiaomi says the screen is designed to provide vivid colours and clearer detail, making it suitable for both media consumption and daily productivity tasks.

To further improve the experience, the tablets support up to a 120Hz refresh rate in supported applications and games. This allows smoother scrolling, better animation fluidity, and a more responsive feel during use.

Xiaomi has also included triple TÜV Rheinland eye-care certifications, helping reduce strain during extended viewing sessions. Outdoor mode brightness reaches up to 600 nits, allowing better visibility under bright sunlight.

Powering the REDMI Pad 2 9.7 Series is the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 Mobile Platform, a 6nm octa-core processor capable of reaching speeds up to 2.9GHz. Xiaomi claims the chipset delivers a significant performance boost compared to the previous generation, making multitasking and entertainment smoother.

Battery life is another major highlight, with both models equipped with a 7600mAh battery. Xiaomi states users can expect up to 1.7 days of use, depending on workload and settings.

Xiaomi HyperOS 3 and Smart Ecosystem Features

The tablets launch with Xiaomi HyperOS 3 pre-installed, bringing a refreshed interface, new wallpapers, and better usability. Users with Xiaomi smartphones can also benefit from shared clipboard functionality, allowing faster copying and pasting between devices.

Support for Circle to Search by Google is included as well, offering convenient visual search features.
