Recent reports suggest that Wolfenstein 3 is in development at MachineGames, and fans could see an official reveal soon. While neither MachineGames nor Bethesda has confirmed the project, multiple credible sources have fueled speculation.
Insider Reports Point to Active Development

Windows Central’s Jez Corden, known for accurate leaks, reported that MachineGames is actively working on Wolfenstein 3. Kotaku also confirmed the claim through its own sources. Both reports suggest that the game’s release may coincide with the upcoming Wolfenstein TV series in development at Amazon.
The Amazon series does not have a release date yet, but an announcement could come soon. Coordinating a game reveal with the show would follow a strategy similar to Amazon’s successful Fallout adaptation.
A Long-Awaited Continuation of the Reboot Trilogy

MachineGames revived the Wolfenstein series in 2014 with The New Order, followed by The Old Blood and The New Colossus, known as Wolfenstein 2. The studio planned a trilogy, but it never received a proper conclusion.
The 2019 release Wolfenstein: Youngblood served as a co-op spin-off rather than a true sequel. Fans expected a more definitive ending. Studio head Jerk Gustafsson previously stated in a documentary that the trilogy was always part of MachineGames’ vision. This makes the rumours of a third mainline game seem plausible.
Timing Supports a Major Announcement

Bethesda will celebrate its 40th anniversary in June 2026. This milestone offers an ideal opportunity to reveal a major title like Wolfenstein 3. MachineGames also teased an unannounced project in late 2025, further encouraging speculation.
The studio has confirmed it is working on multiple projects following the release of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Considering Gustafsson’s trilogy comments and Bethesda’s past hints, it is likely that Wolfenstein is among these titles.
Fan Expectations and Caution

Fans have waited more than five years since Youngblood, which is longer than the franchise’s usual release cadence. Many hope a new entry will restore the series’ earlier acclaim. However, as with all leaks and insider reports, the information should be taken with caution until official announcements arrive.
For now, signs point to a long-awaited next chapter for MachineGames’ Wolfenstein reboot. It could finally give the series the conclusion that fans have been anticipating.
