The Real Face of a VTuber, a murder mystery game from Lilien Games and WhisperGames, releases on Steam for PC on January 13, 2026. The game puts players in the role of prosecutor Justin Truth, who must solve a murder that happened at a VTuber studio. The twist: multiple suspects claim to be the person behind the same online avatar, Kuripa, who was streaming live when the crime took place.
Lilien Games worked with several creators and VTuber groups on the project, including indie developers behind games like Aeruta, Alice’s World, Word Game, and Minds Beneath Us. VTuber groups SpringFish Studio and ReLive Project contributed, along with independent VTuber Nonokuma Bicori. The game includes Easter eggs related to the VTuber community.

Gameplay
Players will gather evidence, find contradictions in witness statements, challenge alibis, and engage in courtroom battles. The game includes realistic courtroom procedures and lets players choose who to prosecute, which affects how the story plays out.
Key features include:
- A murder mystery focused on VTuber culture
- Courtroom mechanics that follow proper legal procedure
- Nonlinear storytelling where player choices matter
- Multiple possible endings
- Optional help from an in-game clerk for newcomers, with deeper challenges for experienced mystery fans
Despite its colorful look, the game presents a tough puzzle. Demo statistics show that only 1.6% of players correctly identified the real culprit during testing.
