Vivo V15 Pro Review – 32MP pop-up selfie camera and great performance comes in a good price

The innovative design on Vivo V15 Pro caught our eyes at first glance. The Super AMOLED display is 6.39-inch with an impressively screen-to-body ratio of 91.64% thanks to the no-notch design, as well as slim side and top bezels (1.75mm and 2.22mm). Like Vivo NEX’s design, a pop-up selfie camera is hidden behind the display. It only shows up when you activate the selfie function, then retracts automatically when you are not using it.

The review unit we get is in Topaz Blue (there is another Ruby Red version available too) that comes with a beautiful blend of blue and purple. V15 Pro features the stylish Spectrum Ripple design, you can see lines that dance across the back when you view it from different angles. However, the phone is slippery yet quite a fingerprint magnet so you could want to put its plastic phone case on.

On top of it, you get an AI Triple Rear Camera in powerful specifications (we will talk about this later). The device also has the latest in-display fingerprint scanner that is faster and more secure.

Camera

V15 Pro‘s triple rear camera is a combination of 48MP Quad Pixel Sensor, 8MP AI Super Wide-Angle Camera and a 5MP Bokeh Camera. Along with the improved AI algorithms, you can easily take stunning shots in bright and low-light scenarios. The AI Super Night Mode helps perfects your night-time shots, while the AI Super Wide-Angle Camera allows you to capture photos from a wider perspective.

The device also comes with something that is really useful especially for females – the AI Body Shaping. Just like what its name says, you can easily adjust every aspect of your body such as create a slimmer waistline or longer legs to create a social media-worthy photo.

For those who love to selfie, its 32MP selfie camera not just take detailed photos, it offers various beautification features to perfect your selfie too. You can even add different portrait lighting effects while you shoot.

Performance and Battery

Gaming performance is of course important for mobile gamers like us, and the good news is, V15 Pro doesn’t disappoint us in this aspect. Powered by Snapdragon 675AIE Octa-core Processor with 6GB RAM, we haven’t experienced lag yet during the time we use the phone for gaming. The Game Mode 5.0 and Dual-Turbo will optimize your device for better gaming performance as well.

We tested the device with a few games like Final Blade and PUBG Mobile. Although the device only runs PUBG Mobile at HD graphics, the gameplay is smooth while the map renders fast. Games like Final Blade requires grinding, fortunately the phone doesn’t heat up significantly so you can keep the game active for a very long period.

The 3700mAh battery can easily last for a day for normal usage or a few hours of intensive gaming. No worries if you used up your battery, you can still recharge it back quickly thanks to the Dual-Engine Fast Charging technology.

The Verdict

Vivo V15 Pro is a great mid-range phone offering what most people would love – ultra full-view display, powerful cameras and decent gaming performance. We haven’t get the actual price of V15 Pro in Malaysia yet, but it is going to be RM1799 according to several sources. And with a price tag lower than RM2000, the device will definitely worth your money.
