Today, Vivo just launched their first of their new series, Vivo S series in Malaysia. It has one of the best specs around the market and affordable too! We are lucky to be able to get our hands on the phone and experience it firsthand. No more talking around, let’s just jump into it.

Performance

Powered by latest Funtouch OS 9 operating system based on Android 9.0 Pie. The phone is also come with Ultra Game Mode with Multi-Turbo and Competition Mode.

Thanks to Multi-Turbo, the gaming performance runs smoothly. There were minimal FPS drop when we tried out some games. Playing while running on high graphics is no problem at all. However, the phone heat up a little bit but not rapidly. Vivo S1 has a 4,500mAh battery with Dual-Engine Fast Charging processor. The battery performance does not disappoint us at all. With Multi-Turbo feature, it also saves up the battery making the battery consumption low. Because of Dual-Engine Fast Charging processor, the battery charges up quickly. Perfect for every gamer needs for a mobile phone.

Design and Display

Coming at 6.38 inch, Vivo S1’s display ratio is bigger than your other smartphones out there, covering up to 90% of its body ratio. With the aspect ratio 19.5:9, you get to enjoy gaming world in wide screen. Its dimension comes in 162x76x8.5 mm for height, width and height respectively. The model we received is in Skyline Blue colour but it is also available in Diamond Black.

Thanks to Super AMOLED display, it can support Always On Display at low consumption. Making it easy for you to check on time by just glancing on it whenever you are in game. You can also customized the display to your liking and show the true you. It also has In-Display Fingerprint scanning for you to unlock your phone easily. It also has various animation for you to choose from.

Camera
Vivo S1 comes with AI Triple Camera featuring Sony IMX499 Camera Sensor. It has 16 MP (f/2.8) main camera, 8 MP (f/2.2) ultra wide sensor and 2 MP (f/2.4) for depth sensor. These cameras also comes in AI driven camera feature to enhance your photos to have the perfect ratio.

What is more impressive their front selfie camera at 32 MP. Their selfie camera comes with AI beautification and AR lens. We were able to take nice selfie together even with back-lit rooms.
