Uma Musume adds New Year Alts: Should You Pull?

With a new banner refresh that will last until 11 January 2022, we have the addition of New Year alts for Haru Urara and TM Opera O to the Uma Musume stable.

The release of these two is not particularly a big surprise considering the Google Play Store leak which took place a few days prior to their release. While not exactly much sought after, these two alts would still be a boon for the fans in particular, but for everyone else, is it worth pulling?

First of, the Shining Star of Losers Everywhere herself. At first glance, one would be able to tell that this version of Haru Urara far surpasses her vanilla version simply for having far more useful abilities, specifically the betweener acceleration skill Laborious, which is core for this strategy in particular. Position Sense and its upgraded version are not particularly great, but might be worth learning simply to pad the points in PVP. New Year Haru Urara ditches the healing unique character ability for speed up equivalent. She does come with blue heal skill in the form of Shake It Out, but it is predicated on Haru Urara triggering many skills during the final leg, making it super situational. So unless your Haru Urara is super intelligent, you might be better of getting something else instead. Roll only if you still run her in dirt, but otherwise this is an easy skip.

New Year TM Opera O takes away her vanilla version’s best skill in the form of Speedstar for the best heal in the game still. Of course the former can be supplemented through other means, so having Arc Maestro right off the bat makes running her for long distances a much smoother experience. Slap Big Eater on New Year TM Opera O and you will have a formidable long distance contender. Again, not entirely necessarily, so another easy skip unless you like TMO Opera O a lot.
