Ubisoft has officially confirmed that teams at Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan are working together on a new game for the future of the Rayman franchise. The announcement came through a video message from brand producer Loic Gounon as part of celebrating the series’ 30th anniversary.
The first game launched for the original PlayStation on September 1, 1995. In his message, Gounon stated that “a very talented team at Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan are currently working together on the future of Rayman.” However, he warned fans not to expect news too soon.

This latest update builds on previous announcements from Ubisoft. Back in October 2024, the company confirmed that Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan had “recently started an exploration phase on the Rayman brand,” describing the project as “still in its early stages.”
More recent activity suggests the project is moving forward. In May, Ubisoft Milan posted job listings for a 3D gameplay animator and senior game designer to work on what they described as “a prestigious AAA title for the Rayman brand.”

Gounon, who has worked on the franchise since 2006, has been involved with several series entries including Rayman Raving Rabbids, Rayman Origins, and Rayman Legends. He joined Ubisoft 20 years ago and spoke about the character’s journey across different Ubisoft studios over the past three decades.
As part of the 30th anniversary celebration, Ubisoft plans to share behind-the-scenes content, developer interviews, concept art, and other materials across their community channels in the coming months. The company acknowledged the fan community’s role in keeping Rayman’s legacy alive over the years
