In a time where many old series seem to be making or announcing comebacks, hope springs eternal for The World Ends With You / TWEWY fandom, more so with Square Enix opening up a mysterious countdown website for the next week which you can check out here.

The game was originally released on the Nintendo DS back in 2007, later receiving a port for iOS and Android devices, and finally a “definitive edition” for the Nintendo Switch dubbed The World Ends With You: Final Remix. An anime adaptation will also be coming soon, scheduled for a 2021 release.

If you’ve been involved in the fandom, you have likely heard the many calls for a proper sequel to the game which has yet to materialize, but TWEWY been getting more spotlight lately if the anime announcement and the countdown website is any indication.

In any case, there’s plenty of speculation that people can do while they wait for the timer to count down.
