Tifa Lockheart, a character from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, has recently been taking the internet by storm.

With Final Fantasy VII Rebirth about to launch, fans were getting excited over the release of the game. But now even before the game’s release, Tifa Lockheart, one of the female protagonists in the game is trending on X/Twitter, with 50.3K posts as of writing.

The main cause of the sudden popularity lies in a clip of the remade Costa Del Sol section of Final Fantasy 7 that has gone viral. The clip shows a party at the beach, with Cloud seemingly getting flustered over seeing Tifa and Aerith in their swimsuits.

In just a few days, the Internet became obsessed with the clip, with many people sharing it all over the Internet, with even one post on X/Twitter receiving 20.6K likes and 2.7 million views on that post alone.

Even the post on our official GamerBraves Facebook page has received a lot of attention, with it garnering more than 7.5K reacts, 300 comments, and over 340K views of writing and still growing.

As long as you go on X/Twitter, you are bound to see the viral clip at some point, and some users have expressed their experience of seeing the clip constantly.

Now, Tifa’s popularity is not exactly new, as the character has always been one of the most popular characters in game history, with many people even outside of the Final Fantasy VII community knowing her.

There was even a time back in January 2024 when Tekken fans were constantly asking for Tifa Lockheart to be a guest character in Tekken 8.

This got to the point that Tekken boss Katsuhiro Harada had to come out to address the requests.

Interestingly, Aerith, the other character alongside Tifa in the viral clip did not receive the same amount of attention, with only 13.5K posts. And while this is still considered a large amount, it pales in comparison to the numbers Tifa achieved.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is slated to be released on 29th February 2024. With the release date being so close, added with the now viral popularity of Tifa, this is sure to add more excitement to players who are already highly anticipated for the game.
