The Last Of Us Part II Remastered Shows Off Roguelike No Return Mode

Naughty Dog has put out a new trailer for No Return in The Last of Us Part II Remastered, the game’s upcoming roguelike single-player mode.

The mode features dungeon crawling elements, where you’ll play through multiple stages to hunt certain targets.

Based on the layout of the map, it looks like locations and the target in each map will be randomized separately- though that’s not currently been confirmed.

That being said, it looks like weapons and mods will be randomized with every run- allowing you to have a new experience with your runs.

Additionally, you’ll also be able to choose a character to play as for each run, each with their own skills and playstyles.

Based on the character skills it looks like there will also be a trading outpost as well as some kind of crafting system- with some characters like Jesse having innate access to Silencers and Pipe Bombs.

Here are the characters you’ll be able to play as, according to the trailer:

• Dina
• Jesse
• Tommy
• Joel
• Abby
• Lev
• Yara
• Mel
• Manny

The trailer shows that some of these characters can be locked, so it’s unclear how exactly you’re meant to get them, whether it be through story progression in the main game or completing objectives in No Return.

No Return was first announced as a bonus mode for The Last of Us Part II Remastered, the remaster of Naughty Dog’s latest title.
