Terminator 2D: No Fate, a retro side-scrolling action game inspired by the legendary sci-fi film Terminator 2: Judgment Day, has been delayed to October 31, 2025.
Originally slated for an early September release, publisher Reef Entertainment confirmed the new launch date to give developers Bitmap Bureau additional time for final refinements and a polished day-one patch.
A Retro Reimagining of a Sci-Fi Classic
First announced earlier this year, Terminator 2D: No Fate brings a nostalgic 2D side-scroller experience to modern platforms, faithfully adapting the story of T2 while introducing new playable characters and gameplay scenarios.
Key Gameplay Features:

- Play as Sarah Connor, T-800, and for the first time, adult John Connor during future war segments.
- Protect John Connor from the relentless T-1000 and help stop Skynet’s apocalyptic rise.
- Classic side-scrolling action with intense combat and platforming mechanics.

Terminator 2D: No Fate will now launch on October 31, 2025, just in time for Halloween. The game will be available on multiple platforms, such as the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and on PC via Steam.
The Legacy Continues

While the Terminator film franchise has had mixed recent entries, including Terminator: Dark Fate in 2019, creator James Cameron has hinted at developing a new Terminator project. Fans can also check out Netflix’s animated series, Terminator Zero, which debuted in 2024.
As we wait for the next evolution of the Terminator universe, Terminator 2D: No Fate looks to reignite the franchise’s roots with pixel-style action and timeless storytelling.
