Voice actor and internet personality Sungwon “ProZD” Cho announced today that he’s involved with God of War Ragnarok, voicing the character Ratatoskr.
Ratatoskr isn’t a new character in Ragnarok, instead ProZD will be replacing Troy Baker, who voiced the squirrel in 2018’s God of War. The character is a summon used by Atreus, which can give Kratos various stones in combat depending on Atreus’ currently equipped arrows.
According to Sungwon, his role didn’t just stop at voicing the character, however- in his tweet, he also mentioned that he helped write the scenes for the character, thanking Sony Santa Monica for the opportunity.
“I voice and provide the motion capture for Ratatoskr in GOD OF WAR RAGNAROK, and in addition, I was also hired by @SonySantaMonica to work directly with the writers to help write his scenes, thank you to everyone there for the opportunity”, he said in a tweet.
Sungwon gained popularity back in the days of Vine, with multiple short skits featuring his infamous deep voice and his handle ProZD. He also performed multiple song covers as the popular Disney character Goofy. This isn’t his first major videogame role, however, as he was also the voice of FL4K in Borderlands 3, as well as the English voice for Vaseraga in Granblue Fantasy Versus.
