Studio IGGYMOB, the developer behind Gungrave G.O.R.E., has announced its upcoming game: MOOSA: Dirty Fate. The dark action game is set in Korea during the 17th century and is planned for release in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store. It will also be available on Game Pass.
The title itself comes from a Korean word for a warrior who has fully committed to the path of martial arts. That meaning carries through into the game’s story, where warriors with different goals and beliefs clash, and their choices lead to bloodshed and fate. The game takes place during the Joseon Dynasty in 17th century Korea, a period that was particularly brutal even by historical standards. The era coincided with the Little Ice Age, a time of extreme weather, widespread famine, and deadly disease outbreaks across the world.
Historical records from the period describe just how desperate things had become, with accounts of people resorting to eating other humans to survive. Players take on the role of Gunn, a warrior who has lost everything and is driven by vengeance. The story involves fighting enemies described as demons in human form, and slowly uncovering the truth behind a legendary creature called the IMUGI.
MOOSA’s combat is built around two core weapons: the sword and the bow. Players can expect large-scale battles against groups of enemies, one-on-one boss fights against creatures pulled from Korean folklore, and skill-focused duels against master swordsmen. No specific release date has been shared yet.
