Legendary’s upcoming Street Fighter movie just powered up its roster — and this time, it’s bringing the fire. Literally.
According to Deadline, Indian action superstar Vidyut Jammwal, known for his jaw-dropping stunts in the Commando series, has officially been cast as Dhalsim, the fire-breathing yoga master from Capcom’s iconic fighting franchise.
First introduced in Street Fighter II back in 1991, Dhalsim is a peaceful warrior who stretches minds (and limbs) with his flame-fueled attacks and meditative calm — a fighter not driven by violence, but by duty to protect his family. Jammwal’s casting marks his Hollywood debut, and it looks like he picked one epic entrance.
Jammwal, who has racked up 22 million followers across social media and headlined a dozen action blockbusters in India, is ready to make waves in the West — and the flames of Dhalsim might just be the perfect spark.

Alongside Jammwal, the already stacked cast includes:
-
Andrew Koji as Ryu
-
Noah Centineo as Ken
-
Callina Liang as Chun-Li
-
David Dastmalchian as M. Bison
-
Cody Rhodes as Guile
-
Jason Momoa as Blanka
-
Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog
-
Orville Peck as Vega
-
Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki
-
Roman Reigns as Akuma
-
Hirooki Goto as E. Honda
Directed by Kitao Sakurai (Bad Trip), the live-action Street Fighter film is still keeping its plot under tight wraps. But if the casting choices are anything to go by, it’s clear that this isn’t just a nostalgia trip — it’s a global brawl of epic proportions.
Stay tuned as more power-ups and reveals are bound to drop soon. For now, fans can start meditating on one thing: This fight is about to get lit.
