About Octopath Traveler 0
Octopath Traveler 0 is set before the events of the original game, inviting players to “start from zero” with a customizable protagonist. Unlike its predecessors, the story is inspired by Champions of the Continent but reimagined for a full RPG release. Additionally, the game introduces new mechanics that expand tactics and townbuilding while retaining the series’ iconic HD-2D visuals and Break & Boost combat system.

Notably, the scope of party building has also been expanded, as players can recruit from over 30 unique characters. Therefore, the game moves away from the eight-character narrative structure that defined the earlier titles.

Finally, Square Enix confirmed that Octopath Traveler 0 will release worldwide on December 4, 2025. It will be available for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store. Overall, players across all platforms can expect optimized performance with unique limits depending on their system of choice.
