Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced the formation of TeamLFG, the newest addition to the PlayStation Studios family. The Bellevue, Washington-based developer brings together industry veterans from acclaimed titles like Destiny, Halo, Fortnite, and League of Legends to work on what Sony describes as an “ambitious incubation project.”
According to PlayStation Studios Business Group CEO Hermen Hulst, the studio “originated at Bungie, but has also rallied developers from across the industry.” The team consists of both on-site staff in Bellevue and remote workers throughout the United States and Canada.

TeamLFG—which clarifies its name stands for “Looking For Group” rather than its more commonly known meaning—states they are “passionate about exceptional action-based gameplay, moment-to-moment game feel, and richly social virtual worlds.” The studio aims to create games where players can “find friendship, community, and belonging.”
Their debut project is described as a “team-based action game that draws inspiration from fighting games, platformers, MOBAs, life sims, and frog-type games.” Players will inhabit what the studio calls “a lighthearted, comedic world set in a brand-new, mythic, science-fantasy universe.”

In line with modern game development practices, TeamLFG plans to hold early access playtests and build their games alongside community feedback. “It’s critical that we stay nimble enough to react to player feedback, not just in our lead-up to launch, but throughout live service as we continue to grow the game and community for years to come,” the studio stated.
The announcement adds another developer to Sony’s expanding portfolio of first-party studios, which has grown significantly in recent years through acquisitions like Bungie and Insomniac Games. No release window or additional details about TeamLFG’s first project have been provided at this time.
