Shadowverse to Shut Down After 10 Years of Service

Cygames has announced that Shadowverse, the free-to-play digital collectible card game, will officially end service on June 30, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. PT / 10:00 p.m. ET. The game launched on June 17, 2016 on iOS and Android, with a PC version following on Steam on October 28, 2016.

Over its ten-year run, the game released more than 5,000 cards across 32 card sets, introduced multiple formats and game modes, and delivered 20 story chapters with an original cast of characters.  Shadowverse’s run also produced a number of spin-offs, including the physical card game Shadowverse: Evolve, the Nintendo Switch title Shadowverse: Champion’s Battle, and two animated series under the Shadowverse and Shadowverse Flame names.

After 10 years, service for Shadowverse will end at 7 p.m., June 30, 2026 (PT).

Cygames has laid out a schedule for the final months of service:

• After the March 24, 2026 maintenance — Crystal purchases will no longer be available. Crystals already purchased can still be used. All players will receive the Premium Pass for free, and “Leader Card in Three!” card pack bundles will be removed from purchase.
• March 31, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. PT — Throwback Rotation card pool resets; Battle Pass Season 23 begins.
• April 30, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. PT — Throwback Rotation card pool resets.
• May 31, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. PT — Throwback Rotation card pool resets.
• June 30, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. PT — End of service. After this point, players will no longer be able to link their accounts to Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond.

Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond, the direct follow-up to the original game, launched on June 17, 2025 which is nine years after Shadowverse’s debut. It is available on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, as well as iOS and Android. The game will continue to operate after Shadowverse shuts down.

In their official statement, the Shadowverse Team expressed gratitude to the player base and encouraged fans to share their favorite memories of the game on social media as the final months of service approach.
