[SGF24] Black Myth: Wukong Unveils Lavish Physical Collector’s Edition, Pre-Orders Now Available, and Delays Xbox Version

Game Science has dropped pre-order details for its highly anticipated upcoming action RPG Black Myth: Wukong, unveiling a lavish selection of physical releases including an awesome-looking Collector’s Edition.

All these new details were announced during today’s Summer Game Fest 2024 alongside a new epic trailer.

First, pre-orders are now open on the official website, and for physical releases, fans can indulge in either the Deluxe Edition or Collector’s Edition.

Pre-ordering either version will give players immediate access to the “Trailblazer’s Scarlet Gourd”, an obtainable item in-game.

For a price of $399.99, purchasing the Collector’s Edition of Black Myth: Wukong will give players a whole load of goodies, treating yourself with a 40-centimeter figure of the main character, a colored silk scroll “Teaching of the Heart Sutra”, wind chime necklace, ring, pins, stamps, postcards, a Steelbook case, and a warranty certificate.

On the cheaper side, we have the $169.99 Deluxe Edition, which comes with everything the Collector’s Edition comes with, except that the figure has been swapped out for a 1:1 lifesize “Constricting Headband” and the silk scroll will be the “Chaos at the Peach Banquet”.

Note that Game Science has announced that the physical release would unfortunately not come with a disc, but rather an activation code for the game.

Game Science explained that the reason is due to this game being their first time launching game globally and there is a limitation in resources.

“Our publishing team is actively working on resolving these issues and exploring options to offer physical discs,” added Game Science.

Furthermore, the Xbox Series X|S version of Black Myth: Wukong has been delayed to an unannounced date, while the other versions will proceed with the previously announced release date.

“We are currently optimizing the Xbox Series X|S version to meet our quality standards, so it won’t release simultaneously with the other platforms,” Game Science explained. “We apologize for the delay and aim to minimize the wait for Xbox users. We will announce the release date as soon as it meets our quality standards.”

Black Myth: Wukong will launch on August 20, 2024, for the PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
