SEA Game Jam / SEA Game Awards @ Level Up KL 2019

The SEA Game Jam is a 36-hour game jam, featuring developers around Southeast Asia working together in a collaborative environment to create games based on a theme! Organized by Level Up KL, the 2019 edition has concluded, and we must have a winner! Let’s see what the event is first.

The event took place 2 – 3 November 2019, at Level Up KL Inc @ Komune, KL. Electronic gadges are available as prizes for the winning team. Top IPs also stand a chance to win bonus prizes from sponsors. Participants are eligible for a free Level Up KL conference pass. Participants outside Malaysia were eligible for travel reimbursements.

A 100 people were put into balanced groups consisting of game designers, artists and programmers with 4 to 6 people per team. Approximately 3 to 7 jurors appointed by the organizer will judge the winning entry. The theme for this year is “My Phone Made This”, to highlight just how much phones are capable of in this present day!

Meanwhile, Level Up KL also plays host to the SEA Game Awards for the third year running in 2019. The awards aim to recognize and celebrate the creativity, artistry and technical genius of the finest developers and games from around this region in addition to upholding creative and technical excellence in the Southeast Asian video game industry!
