The long-rumored Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag remake seems to be moving forward, with fresh evidence appearing on the game’s Steam page. While Ubisoft hasn’t made any official announcements yet, new features have been spotted that weren’t part of the original 2013 release.
A user on X (formerly Twitter) called The Hidden One noticed that Ubisoft has updated the Black Flag Steam page with several new features. These additions include:
- Custom volume controls
- Stereo sound
- Surround sound
- Mouse-only option
- Adjustable difficulty
- Save anytime feature
BREAKING: These features were recently updated on the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Steam page. I’m certain these are NEW additions for the remake, since none of these options are currently available in the original game.
Last time I checked, there’s no difficulty option, manual… pic.twitter.com/1xWZUdr8hI

Moreover, the interesting part is that none of these features are actually available in the current version of the game, which has led many to believe they’re meant for the upcoming remake.
This isn’t the first hint we’ve gotten about the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake. The project has been one of gaming’s worst-kept secrets lately. A collectible maker working with Ubisoft accidentally revealed it earlier, and even Edward Kenway’s voice actor, Matt Ryan, hinted at it during a recent event, telling fans they would “have to beat” the game again.

The next big gaming event is Gamescom in August, and many are wondering if Ubisoft will use the show’s Opening Night Live to finally announce the remake. While the constant leaks might reduce the surprise factor, fans of the pirate-themed adventure are likely to welcome the news regardless.
