You can now pick your role to queue with in the Public Test Realm (PTR) in Overwatch! Each role will have separate skill ratings. As the game and community evolves, it is hoped that Role Queue keeps matches fun and balanced. Not just that, it’s also to foster teamwork and encourage players to do their best in their role.
Both Competitive Play and Quick Play matchmaking and queuing systems will be updated. Players will be able to choose their role – tank, support, damage – before a match starts. Two tanks, two supports and two damage heroes will form a team, then players choose the heroes matching their roles. After a match ends (for both Competitive and Quick Play), players will return to the main menu to pick their roles before queuing again.
