Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced a price increase for PlayStation Plus, set to take effect on May 20 for new customers in select regions. The company pointed to “ongoing market conditions” as the reason behind the change. Sony made the announcement through an official post on X (formerly Twitter).
Starting May 20, PlayStation Plus prices for new customers will increase in select regions. Due to ongoing market conditions, prices will start at $10.99 USD / €9.99 EUR / £7.99 GBP for 1-month subscriptions and $27.99 USD / €27.99 EUR / £21.99 GBP for 3-month subscriptions.…

For new subscribers, the updated pricing looks like this:
- 1-Month Plan: $10.99 / £7.99 / €9.99 (up from $9.99 / £6.99 / €8.99)
- 3-Month Plan: $27.99 / £21.99 / €27.99 (up from $24.99 / £19.99 / €24.99)
The price increase only applies to new PlayStation Plus customers signing up on or after May 20. Current subscribers will keep their existing rates, with two exceptions: those in Turkey and India will see the new prices apply to their accounts as well.
It is also worth noting that existing subscribers anywhere who let their subscription lapse or make changes to their plan will be subject to the new pricing when they sign back up. The PlayStation Plus price change comes at a time when Sony has been raising costs across its hardware lineup as well. The subscription price hike follows Sony raising PS5 prices earlier this year, affecting both the base and Pro models, which the company described as a “necessary step” due to continued pressures in the global economic landscape.
