Japan-based game developer 6wave has just released its latest RPG title, Phantom Blade for the Android and iOS platforms.

Phantom Blade is a fast-paced 2D action game which boasting real-time PvP. Regardless, players are able to explore the game’s storyline allowing a change in pace and a break from the frantic gameplay. Players taken on the role of protagonist, Takeru, a swordsman of a certain organization living out his daily life not knowing if it will be his last. The days he spent with his companions served as highlights of, although one day after a certain incident, Takeru decides to take matters into his own hands to alter his fate.

The plot is certainly a lot more serious than one would expect from a smartphone game, but will this work to its advantage remains to be seen. To celebrate its pre-registration numbers surpassing 100,000 players, everyone will receive the character Hina and 1600 Gold for free.
