Publisher Annapurna Interactive and developer Iridium Studios have announced that musical turn-based RPG People of Note will launch on April 7. The game will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store. It will retail with a 10 percent discount offered at launch.
Blending theatrical musical performances with strategic combat systems, People of Note positions itself as a bold genre hybrid that aims to merge rhythm mechanics and role-playing fundamentals into a cohesive experience.
A Quest for Stardom in a World of Sound

At the center of the story is Cadence, an aspiring pop singer determined to secure her place in the prestigious Noteworthy Song Contest. After being rejected, she realizes that a solo performance may not be enough to impress the judges. What begins as a journey toward musical recognition gradually evolves into something far greater.
As Cadence travels across the world of Note, she recruits a diverse cast of musicians to complete her band. Each region reflects a distinct musical identity, from the Rock City of Durandis to the EDM-driven Lumina. However, beneath the spectacle of performance lies a growing crisis. A phenomenon known as the Harmonic Convergence is destabilizing the world’s musical energies, threatening to unravel the very harmony that defines Note. Dark forces are working behind the scenes, and Cadence’s ambitions soon intersect with the responsibility of safeguarding music itself.
Rhythm-Driven Combat With Strategic Depth

Combat in People of Note transforms traditional turn-based systems into interactive stage performances. Battles unfold as dynamic musical numbers, where timing attacks to the beat amplifies damage output. The rhythm-based structure encourages precision and attentiveness, adding a layer of mechanical engagement beyond standard menu-driven encounters.
Encounters also evolve in real time. As the genre of music shifts mid-battle, so too do combat conditions. Players must adapt their strategies to match the tempo and style currently dominating the stage. Additionally, party members can combine their distinct musical genres to unleash powerful mashup attacks, reinforcing the game’s thematic commitment to collaboration and creativity.
Exploration, Customization, and Accessibility

Outside of combat, players can explore Note’s expansive environments, each shaped by its musical culture. Dungeons feature unconventional enemies and environmental puzzles that reflect the game’s offbeat personality.
Importantly, People of Note offers extensive customization options. Players who prefer to minimize environmental puzzles or streamline combat mechanics can tailor the experience to suit their preferences. This flexibility broadens accessibility while preserving the game’s core identity as a musical RPG spectacle.

With its theatrical presentation, genre-blending combat, and customizable systems, People of Note aims to deliver a performance-driven RPG experience when it launches on April 7.
