Onmyoji: The Card Game Soft Launches On October 22nd

The card game spin-off of the popular mobile game Onmyoji is getting a soft launch next week. Onmyoji: The Card Game will launch in Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines October 22nd, 2020.

Onmyoji: The Card Game is a new spinoff of Onmyoji. In this game, players will step into the paradise of Yokai—Shinkiro—to play the most popular card game among Yokai, Hyakubun. Hundreds of top illustrators and voice actors worked together to create this beautiful hidden world of Yokai. The soundtrack is composed by the famous musician Satoru Kosaki.

Similar to Onmyoji, the card game is based on Japanese folklore. Several of the Shikigami from Onmyoji will also make an appearance in the game, allowing players to learn more about their backstories. Netease has revealed new information about how they’ll work in the game.

Hakuro is a wolf girl that is learning the art of archery. She was once Seimei’s Shikigami, but

she decided to leave later on. As an archer, she admired the archery of Hiromasa. Yet, she

was frustrated by her stagnant skills…And eventually, she figured out the reason.

Hakuro is a single-target Blast character, and is an essential pick for consuming your opponent’s HP.

Shuten Doji, The Former Leader Of Demons?

Legend says that he was at the pinnacle of all yokai. But now, he only seeks solace in his bottles. Beyond that, nothing can spark his interest. But the day of escaping reality will eventually come to an end, the Shuten Doji from the good old days will finally be back.

This powerful character is both a good DPS and tank. Definitely a good pick for when you want to be able to do high damage without worrying about glass cannons.

Ootengu, Loyal Flute Player

Ootengu has a comely face and wings on his back. He is good at the flute, and his tunes can calm one down. He has a stubborn and cold personality, which makes him easy to be influenced. In fact, he is an upright yokai of principle. Once he acknowledges a master, his loyalty is second to none.

This character is a powerful AoE, who rewards good positioning. His countdown ability allows him do deal high damage to multiple targets.

Kusa, The Dandelion Heart

A cute little girl that holds a dandelion in hand. She looks extremely delicate, just like her personality. Despite all that, she always tries her best to root for her friends and doesn’t want to be a burden. And she always cares for and takes care of her friends. She might not be really helpful, but her trying her best to help everyone is already enough.

This timid girl is more of a support role compared to the previous characters shown thus far. She’s a great pick if you need to draw cards, and has access to a Rejuvenate ability.

Pre-registrations are currently open for Onmyoji: The Card Game. Netease has promised good rewards for players who pre-register.
