Asia welcomes the first-ever One Piece treasure hunt, making powerful waves to Malaysia this May at SplashMania Waterpark, Gamuda Cove.
On April 29, we had early media access into the event. And we are on a cruise to show you what you can expect, look out for, and anticipate for when the hunt begins. So come aboard and see what’s in store!

Before embarking on your journey, the One Piece Asia Hunt app must be ready at hand. It is available to install on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Your great pirate adventure will start right at the very beginning of the Straw Hats journey – the East Blue. Following from there, you will then explore ten differently themed zones that follow through the specific arcs of the series, such as:
- Fishman Island
- Punk Hazard
- Dressrosa
- Zou
- Wholecake Island
- Mirror World
- The Land of Wano
- Egghead Island
Once all themed zones are explored, the final destination – the Treasure Hub, will wrap up your quest as you visit this designated merchandise store filled with all sorts of goods and collectibles.
To the East Blue and Beyond!
In order to participate, players have to navigate zones by following the hints provided through the app – which is why it is important to have it at hand.
The app serves as your map as the hints are may often tie directly into the layout of the event location, including references to the waterpark map.

If you are still stuck on where to find them, no worries! You are free to ask the staff on where the location is.
This is a treasure hunt that combines digital aid as well as real-world and hands-on exploration, which will encourage participants to use their sharp senses to look out for hidden boxes.
With each found box, a QR code is contained. Once scanned, the app will unlock a special mini-game that ties to the theme of the zone the box was found. And on the plus side, each station also includes a photo zone where you can snap a quick, fun memory of your journey with your crew.

Mini-Games
In total, there are 10 mini-games to complete. As mentioned each zone will hide a small box containing a QR code. Once it is scanned through the One Piece Asia Hunt app, the code will then launch a mini-game on your phone.
Each mini-game will differ based on it’s zone – so it could be solving puzzles at Fishman Island or answering quiz questions at Punk Hazard, spotting differences, 3D endless running, mix and match, interacting with AR and much more.
All games will have drawn themes from the lore of One Piece, serving as a treat for dedicated fans of the series. Additionally, there are also trivia quest QR codes placed around the waterpark, which serves as a second chance at getting more scores.
The Grand Treasure Hub
Once all physical and digital activities have been completed, unlocking new zones and progressing further into the treasure hunt, participants will reach the final zone of their strifeful journey, the Treasure Hub.

Your accumulated score from all the games will determine where you stand.
Based on your score, the lucky top 300 participants will receive consolation prizes for their hard work. Whereas the top 50 will walk away with exclusive grand prizes following One Piece themes.
The winners will be announced at the end of the event, so every challenge completed and every second saved may be the key to claiming your worthy spot among the best pirates in the hunt.
Inside the Hub
In the final zone, there won’t just be activities in the area that people can enjoy, but you can also get access to exclusive One Piece merchandise, browsing endlessly at the limited-edition collectibles.
Once you’re there, you can redeem your finisher medal, snap memorable photos at the official photo booth, and explore a treasure trove of themed items and collectibles. The photo booth is priced between RM25–RM30, a great average for capturing your victorious triumph.

As for merchandise, fans can find a wide selection of One Piece Asia Hunt exclusives like:

Overall Experience
Furthermore, the One Piece Asia Hunt has offered a fun and interactive experience for fans to enjoy the world of One Piece all through exploration, exciting challenges and merchandise and collectibles.
With the mini-games being tied to the series’ story arc as well as a range of themed zones to explore, there’s so much to take in and enjoy, especially for those familiar with the series. However, remember that the event takes place in a waterpark and takes roughly two hours to complete outdoors, so it’s a good reminder to pack a good supply of water, apply a good amount of sunscreen and be braced for a long walk. Should your phone lose battery quickly, it is alo recommended to bring a power bank before the event.

Once you’ve completed your quest and obtained your Malaysia Edition Finisher Medal, you can take a good long break, snap a couple of good photos, examine the merchandise or chill out in the pool. All in all, this experience is great way to spend your day if you’re a One Piece fan looking for something a little new to venture.
